Ah, January in Chicago. The icy sidewalks and single-digit temps are easily enough to keep us cooped up until spring, but our friends at Schubas love us too much to let that happen. Following suit to their previous years, Schubas is filling in that gap between sunny summer fests and springtime temp changes with their annual Tomorrow Never Knows fest. Spanning five consecutive nights, TNK ’10 kicks off Wednesday, January 15th. Each year, TNK features a massive list of under-the-radar musicians, both local and national.
This year, Schubas is incorporating their newest addition to their venue family, Lincoln Hall into TNK, dividing the fest’s shows between both locations. 2010’s lineup boasts an impressive list of up-and-coming indie artists, including Maps & Atlases, Hood Internet, Atlas Sound, and hometown boys, Skybox.
Five-day passes are still available for $75, which includes access to both Schubas and Lincoln Hall, a TNK poster and sampler CD, as well as free rides between the venues and select CTA stops, courtesy of Zipcar. Now, if that’s not enough to pull you out of winter hibernation, we’re not sure what will – after all, music is the best incentive!
Cheeky TNK Picks:
- Surfer Blood (Thursday; Schubas)
- Voxtrot (Thursday; Lincoln Hall)
