Parties are great. Birthday parties, engagement, parties, bridal showers, “I Got a Raise” parties, “I Didn’t Get Laid Off” parties, bachelorette parties, weddings, bar mitzvahs, etc., etc. One of the best kinds of parties? The opening of a restaurant party. Passed food, flowing drinks and the priceless feeling of being a VIP, if just for one night.

Bin 36. bin wine café. A Mano. Oh my. The Bin 36 Restaurant Group is a Chicago staple and, with the grand re-opening of their Italian hotspot, A Mano, they’ve added an Italian destination restaurant to their list of booming cheese-heavy, wine-flowing, delicious predecessors.

On March 12th, CheekyChicago sponsored – in conjunction with their favorite charity, Bright Pink – the grand re-opening bash at Marina City‘s newest restaurant. A $5 suggested door donation benefited the powerful non-profit organization that “believes in the beauty and strength of women. It exists to enlighten and empower high-risk individuals to take control of their breast health by providing education, support and a sense of community for a better, brighter future.”

Proud to be part of such an event, Cheeky decided to celebrate by indulging in some of the delicious treats (both edible and drinkable). Shrimp cocktail, ahi tuna, seared swordfish, butternut squash ravioli, polenta fries, artisan cheeses, fancy pizzas and much, much more overflowed from our small plates. Sparkling, white and red wines overflowed from the flutes and glasses they were served in. If the food I sampled is any indication of how good the restaurant is, Chicago is in for a real treat (I’m almost positive that the butternut squash ravioli was infused with truffle – yum).

I’m pretty sure everyone at the event was abiding by Bin’s motto: “Drink wine. Live well. Have fun.” You can do just that every night of the week at A Mano, Bin 36 or bin wine café. Now, that’s a mantra I’d like to live by…
