The ASAP Foundation’s Third Annual Signature Fundraising Event

Jerry Azumah Strikes Again

by Itika Oldwine – May 13, 2011
On May 18, Pro Bowler Jerry Azumah will host the annual signature event for his non-profit organization, the ASAP Foundation, at Lucky Strike.  Azumah launched ASAP in 2004 to empower at risk students in Illinois and his home state of Masachusetts and raise funds for scholarships at San Miguel Schools Chicago, LINK Unlimited and St. Peter Marian School in Worcester, MA.  ASAP’s fundraising efforts are year round but, “the premiere signature event helps to raise the profile of this great cause,” explains Executive Director Micaeh Johnson.

Jerry has called on his high profile pals Chicago Bears players Lance Briggs, Tommie Harris and Garrett Wolfe and television and radio personalities Robin Robinson, Natalie Martinez, Marcus Riley and J Niice to join in on the fun for Wednesday’s bowling event.  The festivities start at 6 pm with passed appetizers and a hosted bar that will feature signature Hennessy Black cocktails.  There will be one hour of open bowling from 7-8 pm and the featured celebrity bowling will take place from 8-9:30 pm with lanes occupied by CheekyChicago, Hennessy Black, TimeOut Chicago, Muve Music and Albert’s Diamond Jewelers.

Popular DJ Rock City will be spinning all night while supporters and party-goers hit the lanes and mingle with some of Chicago’s most influential people in the world of sports, entertainment and philanthropy, all in attendance to support a great cause.

Tickets are $75/person and available for purchase online at www.theasapfoundation.org.
