Style in the City

by Jenny Muslin – June 8, 2010

The other night I saw the movie I (and millions of other women) had been anticipating for months, Sex and the City 2. I know the film is getting a lot of slack from movie reviewers for being indulgent and a far cry from the series’ days, but come on- isn’t it sometimes nice to see a movie that’s simply girly and total fantasy? Yes, Dior and diamonds while on camelback in the desert is completely unrealistic, but that’s part of the fun of this movie. Which brings me to what I could not get enough of- the fashion. Whether you love this movie or hate it, it’s undeniable that the clothing, handbags, and jewelry are more entertaining than this season’s best runway show. While I recognized some of the Halston Heritage pieces sprinkled throughout Carrie’s wardrobe, other irresistible items had me oohing, ahhing, and praising the true talent of costumer, Patricia Field.

Here are some of my favorite picks. A girl can dream, can’t she?
