Looking For Arts & Culture Exclusives? Get Your Cheeky Card! The 2012 Olympic Games kick off today, but it’s what’s happening at the closing that’s got people talking.
Because, friends, the female British invasion known as The Spice Girls are helping to close out the Games, along with The Who, Jessie J., and others.
The appearance on August 12 will be the first time the ladies have performed together since 2008. They’ve recently reunited, however, to promote Viva Forever, a musical based on their songs.
The quintet – Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Victoria Beckham and Melanie Chrisholm (Ginger, Baby, Scary, Posh and Sporty, respectively) – will play only two songs. There’s been no word of a reunion tour just yet, but – in the music world, stranger things have happened.
