Second City Steps up for Haiti

The Arts Community Bands Together for a Cause

by Alison Weiss – January 19, 2010

This isn’t an easy time to be an arts organization – when is it ever? But that’s not stopping the theatre community from doing what it can to assist relief efforts in Haiti.

We’ve learned that The Second City is matching audience donations made at the theatre. Now through January 31st, if you attend a Second City show and drop some cash in the jar on your way out, Second City President Andrew Alexander will match your donation and send all proceeds to Haiti relief organizations.

So now is a perfect time to go see a show at The Second City’s Mainstage or e.t.c. theatres. On the Mainstage is the 50th Anniversary show, Taming of the Flu and at the e.t.c. is the Jeff Award-winning Studs Terkel’s Not Working.

Stay tuned – we’ll keep you updated on other theaters doing similar benefits.
