Rutherford Hill Names Chi Designer as Spokes

HGTV Star Monica Pedersen Nabs a New Gig

by Stephanie Miller – January 22, 2010

Her work has been featured in all major Chicago shelter pubs, including North Shore Magazine, CS Interiors, Chicago Home and Gardens, and the Chicago Tribune. She’s the host of HGTV’s Designed to Sell and Dream Home.

Who is this season’s “It” girl?

Chicago-based designer Monica Pedersen, naturally.

In addition to racking up the design accolades, Pedersen is now a bona fide spokesperson for Rutherford Hill wine, part of Terlato Wines – the Lake Bluff, Illinois-based juggernut of a wine empire that oversees the production and management of uber popular wineries such as Chimney Rock (one of my personal faves), Alderbrook, Seven Daughters, and Tangley Oaks.

To jumpstart her partnership with Rutherford Hill, last weekend Pedersen shot video and photography at the 14,000 square-foot Landsdowne Estate in Lake Bluff. The Orren Pickell-built luxury estate was the perfect backdrop for the oenophile and her new gig.

Rutherford Hill will soon be launching a national contest where one winner will receive an entertaining makeover from Pedersen who’ll be on hand to offer up entertaining tips for the perfect wine pour, design aesthetics, and complementary recipes.

Simply put: Stephanie is a wine and spirits guru. A Social Media Strategist by day and the Drink Editor of Chicago Scene by night, she has her pulse on the latest liquor trends and could probably teach a course on the difference between Scotch and Whiskey.
