Looking for Restaurant Exclusives? Get Your Cheeky Card!

Restaurant DiscountsNothing ends the work day better than meeting your girls out for a few cocktails and a bite to eat at your favorite spot. It’s a great way to unwind, catch up on the latest Bachelor gossip and enjoy delicious Chicago food.

The only problem: Your credit card balance is creeping up every month.

You swear you’re going on a strict budget and promise to eat in every night. That lasts three days before you belly up to the bar with your best girlfriend.

If you don’t want to give up your city lifestyle, or look like the cheap friend rolling in with four coupons, try these five easy ways to save:

1. Have a snack before you get to the restaurant.

Just like grocery shopping, never go to a restaurant starving. An appetizer, three drinks, main meal and dessert later, you’re left bloated and feeling like crap for spending so much. Have a small snack before you go. Your waistline and wallet will thank you!

2. Choose an appetizer and side salad.

Appetizers are the best part of the menu! Choose a small appetizer and side salad as your main meal. You’ll feel totally satisfied, save money and calories, and have a great experience.

3. Stick to one drink.

Get one glass of wine, or whatever you love to drink, and sip it throughout your meal. Alcohol is an easy way to overspend, and I don’t know about you, but once I get a few drinks in me, “Fun Bobby” comes out and I’m ready to paint the town instead of going home at a decent hour to get beauty rest.

4. Bring cash.

Don’t you hate the words “split it down the middle” when you had one drink versus the five your friend guzzled down? To avoid looking cheap and counting pennies, bring cash. It makes it so much easier when the bill comes. You can quickly add your meal and drink, throw in extra for tip and tax and put your cash down.

5. Get a Cheeky Card.

I love my Cheeky Card! Complimentary dishes and drinks, discounted dining and priority reservations are just a few of the perks you get with this membership card. You can check out  a few of them here.
