Move Over OPI

by Jenny Muslin – February 17, 2010

The other night at dinner, my girlfriends couldn’t help but notice my nail polish. In fact, I’ve received more than a few comments on my new nail color and I owe it all to my latest favorite, RGB, a chic line of luxe nail polishes in unique colors.

Chicago native, Gina Carney, named the line, RGB, after red, green, and blue: the foundation of the color wheel. Carney’s line is made up of ten core polishes that will always remain in the collection called the RGB Ten. Additional colors are added seasonally.

Made in the USA, RGB is chemical-free without formaldehyde, toluene, or DBP, which are present in most polishes. I’ve purchased Slate (a shimmery, rich charcoal), Haze (a lilac-gray), and my favorite, Toast.  The Toast color is a dead-ringer for the sold-out Chanel color of this season, Particuliere. A grayish-taupe, Toast seems to pair perfectly with any clothing or jewelry you have on.

I love RGB’s sleek, square-shaped bottle and shorter brush. The application comes out creamy, streak-free, and dries quickly. The polish is chip-resistant and mine was still in tact after five days.

At $14 each, the nail polish isn’t cheap but the website’s free shipping makes it a little more enticing to place an order. Plus, a brand new polish can be a cheeky pick-me-up in this drab weather.
