Spring is here and with it comes Easter eggs, spring fashion, Passover seders, open toed sandals, baseball season and pastel-colored M&M's. Sounds good to us... Spring cooking might be our favorite by product of flowers, rainy April days and baseball season. We're finally sick of creamy soups, chili and never-ending pasta bowls. Bring on the lemon, the citrus and, dare I say, margaritas, white wine and sangria. In fact, Cheeky Chef John Coletta, discusses this transitional time in his Eats article this week. Speaking of spring cooking, we hope you checked out our invite to La Madia yesterday. We've got a spring cooking table reserved just for you on April 15th. We've already mentioned such fabulous cocktails as margaritas, wine and sangria, but how about some organic spirits this spring? If you're really feeling adventurous, perhaps you'll try some beer (I'm not talking Wrigley Field-like Bud and Old Style) - I'm talking R.G.B. (Really Good Beer). Might want to check out Cooper's, if that's the case. Steppenwolf seems to defy seasons - their spring work is just as good as their fall, winter and summer productions - so it doesn't take much tempting for us to get down there. This week, we've got a review of Art for you. Speaking of good theatre, we've got a great deal coming at you this Friday for All My Love at the Theatre Building. Consider it our spring gift for you. Despite the April-ness of it all, it's still a bit chilly outside. Make sure to order your Cheeky hoodies before we replace them with the good ole tanktop. 'April showers bring May flowers.' As long as 'April showers' don't turn into massive snow storms and 'May flowers' don't turn into 'April showers', we'll be happy and springing in our step. Cheekily, |
