Cheeky Girls Want Lovely Locks

by Jenny Muslin – April 12, 2010

I admit that I’m picky when it comes to my hair care products, although I think I should be when I’m paying to have it colored and cut every other month. I swear I’ve tried every brand around, from the pricier salon brands like Kerastase and Aquage to the less expensive brands like Garnier and Dove.  They all claim to make my hair shine, stay silky smooth, and ultimately stop traffic.

The latest buzz in hair care though, has been all about the oils, which has left me questioning what the benefits of natural healing oils in hair care are. I decided I had to give it a try. During my trial, I discovered a new favorite that I promise will make your hair look and feel good, and not break the bank.

The Macadamia Natural Oil line combines both macadamia nut oil and argan seed oil (most hair care lines focus on only one oil).  According to the Macadamia Natural Oil company, macadamia nut oil has an ability to mimic the body’s own natural oils, which allows for quick absorption and penetration into the hair and skin.  Aside from having numerous vitamins and natural antioxidants, macadamia oil has the highest amount of Omega-7 fatty acids of any plant. Moroccan Argan Oil naturally has high levels of Vitamin E and Omega-9, which are awesome for improving hair strength and revitalizing hair that’s been damaged by weather or over-processing.  Overall, the nutrients and fatty acids from these oils aid in restoring hair growth, conditioning, and overall health.

Macadamia Natural Oil has many different types of products, but their featured product is the macadamia healing oil treatment; an oil you work into your hair after you get out of the shower (one pump is all you need). The oil treatment improves color, eliminates breakage, and majorly cuts drying time.  I’m enjoying the oil but also loving the rejuvenating shampoo and the deep repair masque. Both are moisturizing and smell so yummy. What I also like about the line is that the products are alcohol-free and work on all hair-types.

You may be thinking, isn’t this oil stuff just going to make my hair oily? The answer is “no.” If anything, these products help make your hair weightless, shiny, and keep the frizzies at bay.  If you’re curious about trying the line but don’t want to buy a full size product just yet, the website offers a sample package of the oil and repair masque for $7.95 and free shipping.

This line can be purchased at Chicago Ulta stores and online at www.macadamiahair.com

The website has some great videos and further product explanations, too.

Now go stop traffic!
