Our Cheeky Charity pick of the month this February was the Kiss My ALS fundraiser (c’mon, it’s even got a cheeky name!). I was lucky enough to celebrate life and do my part in helping to create a world free of ALS on February 10th at the LaSalle Power Company. For $40, guests enjoyed Champagne poured by celebrity restaurateurs, gift bags, raffle prizes, live music, and a kissing booth.
All money benefited the ALS Therapy Development Institute whose mission is to develop effective therapeutics that will halt ALS as soon as possible (ASAP, people!). Built by and for patients, the Institute is the world’s largest ALS research center and the only non-profit biotechnology company with more than 30 professional scientists focused on a single disease.
I am proud to say that my friend, Anne Marie Schlekeway, was the creator of this event. Suffering from ALS, this woman is an inspiration to all. This is my way – however small – of helping a cause close to her heart (and mine and the hearts of those closest to me).
Check out the hot peeps that were ready to Kiss ALS’ A.S.S. last week.
