If you were one of the luck 900+ people to catch the Grammy and Oscar-winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson wow the crowd Tuesday night at  Michigan Avenue magazine’s two-year anniversary at the House of Blues, well, you know how lucky you are.

Jennifer stepped up to the stage and welcomed the cheering crowd exclaiming, “It’s good to be home!” Jennifer was accompanied by her cousin, who played piano behind her, saying “the best thing about being home is that I can bring my family with me.” She continued to interact with the crowd noting she “came out to see you all tonight!” and that she “doesn’t talk much, but I’m gonna sing you a little song and then I’m going to go home if that’s alright with you!”

The crowd shouts grew as Jennifer began the breathtaking rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and “And I Am Telling Youfrom her hit movie Dreamgirls. After one front-row guest shouted that Jennifer looked amazing, she replied “Weight Watchers, baby, it works!”

In honor of weight-watching, a three-tiered, 150 pound Eli’s Cheesecake littered with sparklers was presented to the starlet.   The cake was actually Eli’s new ‘Skinny Eli’ chocolate cheesecake that has only 110 calories and 3 Weight Watchers points per slice, which made Jennifer dig in, saying, “That’s so great…I can eat it!”

Guests sipped specialty cocktails courtesy of Ciroc Ultra Premium Vodka, Don Julio, Sapporo, and enjoyed gaming action provided by Horseshoe Casino and sounds by Josh and the Empty Pockets and DJ Rock City to toast two years of success for Michigan Avenue.
