I Feel Pretty

Cheeky at the Make-Up Counter

by Jenny Muslin – April 5, 2010

When I was in the 7th grade, my friend’s mother introduced me to Bobbi Brown makeup. I remember my friend and I combing through her mom’s drawers of cosmetics and practicing applying our makeup with the sleek packaged eye shadows and professional-looking, fluffy brushes. Of course it was a bit pricey for a 7th grader, but right before my Bat Mitzvah, my own mother allowed me to pick out a few products to start with. What I instantly loved about the makeup was the confidence it gave me and how it made me feel: naturally pretty. This is why I’m still loyal to Bobbi’s products today.

Bobbi Brown makeup is about looking real and fresh, not done up.  Knowing Bobbi’s philosophy, “that all women possess natural beauty,” it’s no surprise that her new Pretty Powerful campaign celebrates the everyday woman with the intention that women learn techniques to enhance what they’ve got.  Rather than focus on models wearing the products, Pretty Powerful features Friends of Bobbi with before and after photos, videos and testimonials, to show women that we are all beautiful.

Check out Bobbi’s Pretty Poweful video here and experience the campaign in person with an appointment at Bloomingdale’s Pretty Powerful Event. Aside from your makeup application, Salon Buzz will be at the event giving complimentary hair styling, prior to getting each guest’s makeover photo taken!

***The first 50 Cheeky readers to book an appointment will receive a Bobbi Brown full size tinted lip balm (varies in shade) and a $15 gift card that can be used towards a product purchase. Be sure to identify yourself as a Cheeky reader when you call to make your appointment. (One per customer.)
