Looking for Health & Beauty Exclusives? Get your Cheeky Card!A runway is constructed in Millennium Park, models are dressed and fashionable Chicagoans pack into seats to experience the seventh annual fashion week, Fashion Focus Chicago, Monday, October 17 through Sunday, October 23.
It may not be Bryant Park, but with over 400 local designers and 300 independent boutiques, it’s Chicago’s time to show the nation that it’s a fashion capital!
The four headlining runway shows ($35 each) begin at 7:30pm at the Park with the following schedule:
1) Tuesday, October 18: The Designers of the Chicago Fashion Incubator presented by Macy’s features new designers-in-residence Concetta Cipriano, Shavonne Dorsey, Eric Kipp, Kahindo Mateene, Taneasha Prunty and Crystal Simms.
2) Wednesday, October 19: InspireDesign presented by Mario Tricoci and vitaminwater® displays Chicago fashion lines Imaginary People, J.Cheikh, Michelle Tan, Narcisse Designs and Reddoll.
3) Thursday, October 20: Conscious Living TV presents the Vert Couture Eco-fashion Show and Benefit. This carbon-neutral charity event benefits Keep Chicago Beautiful, featuring Chicago sustainable couture fashion lines Richard Dayhoff, Brenda Abdullah, Heart, Dollparts, Rosina Mae eco-swimwear, Victoria Larkin, Lauren Lein, Silk Utopia and Mohop Shoes.
4) Friday, October 21: StyleChicago.com presents The Art of Fashion 2011 with Spring 2012 collections from Chicago designers and fashion lines as follows: Nade Baer, Nora del Busto, Lara Miller, Borris Powell, Eva Pazola, RÜCH, Squasht by Les, Shernett Swaby, Sylwia Wilczynska and Zamrie. Each designer also will present a wearable concept garment available for auction.
Journey outside of the park to see the avant-garde Dress Code show by talented local students at the Chicago History Museum on Wednesday, October 19 at 7:30pm. Students from Columbia College Chicago, Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago, International Academy of Design and Technology Chicago and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago will showcase innovative designs.
