Chicago restos have a mild obsession with small plates. From tapas to tasting menus, sliders and sides, the trendiest spots focus on the tiniest portions. This can be unfavorable as a Cheeky chick with a healthy appetite. Alas, a friend and I headed to a post-work meal at Yum Cha Dim Sum hoping for a feast. The downtown destination is helmed by Rodelio Aglibot (the “Food Buddha”) and focuses on bringing people together over communal eats. Chicago is serious about its pizza. And Pizano’s is no exception. Founded in 1991 by Rudy Malnati Jr., Pizano’s Pizza and Pasta is cooked up with rich, Italian tradition topped with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant opened its newest location in Lincoln Park last week, marking its fifth location in the Windy City. What keeps Chicagoans’ appetite thriving for Pizano’s?
