Women celebrating women is a concept close to Cheeky’s heart; that’s why we want to give a shout-out to Chicago local Susan Garcia Trieschmann, a Woman of Worth honoree by L’Oréal Paris. Susan is nominated for her outstanding work with Curt’s Café in Evanston, a non-profit restaurant that provides training and support for at-risk youth. At Curt’s Café, patrons are able to “dine with a purpose”: They support their communities and enjoy delicious grub. The bad thing about covering events is it’s after the fact and you have to read about good times missed-out-on like last Friday’s WinterEscape at the Hard Rock Hotel.
