You can customize it all these days: your house, your ride, your iPhone, even your dog (who knew Malteses and Yorkies could make a Morkie?). Why not customize a shirt for your man?

You know what he likes; you probably know his style better than he does (or, at least, you hope you do – that flannel he brought home last February just did not make the cut). DeoVeritas, a new, online, Chicago-based retailer, is to customized dress shirts what Nike is to customized sneakers.

It is a veritable smorgasbord for masculine tailoring. You pick the color, cut, length, inside color, collar width, buttons vs. no, monogramming vs. no, stripes, plaids, checks – my head is spinning a la I’m at a Chinese buffet. It may not be as cheap as an Asian food walk-thru line, but DeoVeritas is well-priced ($75-$125) and you’ll receive a perfect, customized package in the mail 10 days after ordering – sans a stomachache or MSG poisoning.
