With temperatures in the Chi remaining hot, hot, hot (and we are NOT complaining), it’s best to stay cool while dining out. And while it’s great to cool down with an ice cold beer or a glass of sauv blanc or a pitcher of margaritas, sushi in the summertime is the perfect culinary antecdote.  And while we no doubt love it all months of the year, Cheeky wanted to point out our favorite destinations for summer.  Take a Cheeky peek.

1. Sunda: The Food Buddha’s whimsical and sophisticated spin make maki rolls like the “Wamachi” and “The Summer Roll” stand out more than the celebrity sitting five tables away from you.
2. Ra Sushi:  With rolls like the “Viva Las Vegas” and the “Hot Mess,” Americanized sushi never sounded (or tasted) this good.
3. Usagi Ya: Venture out to this hidden Wicker Park gem for strong lychee martinis and made-to-order rolls based on your personal tastes. Truffle included.
4. NoMI: It may be $25 a roll, but with the finest selection of fresh fish in town, the most fabulous rooftop and a complimentary Cheeky cocktail (print out the coupon to get yours), it’s worth every dollar.
5. Rise Sushi: We love this neighborhood sushi joint for its laid back attitude, welcoming staff, stellar sake list, well-priced wine list, beautiful ambience and, of course, the Honey Roll. (Trust.)
6. Hub 51: The Crunchy Tuna Roll, Tuna Thai Basil Roll and the Salmon Avocado Roll are so addicting, you’ll barely notice the scenester crowd, loud music and long wait.
