Candy Girl

Beauty Products for Sweet Teeth

by Kim Peiffer – January 22, 2010

There are a million beauty products on the market that are amazing; this is no lie.  Although I research them for a living, I find myself reenacting my childlike behavior whenever I get the chance to head over to Dylan’s Candy Bar in NYC. This, of course, is for more than one reason. First and foremost, it provides the most legit sugar rush a girl could ever ask for – and don’t even get me started on their ice cream sundaes. But secondly, the daughter of Ralph Lauren (Dylan) has recently introduced a line of bath and body products to compliment her love of sweets and her time as a self-confessed beauty junkie – and they’re available online and in Chicago, so you don’t have to fly to the Big Apple to buy them.

Dylan developed a line of sweetly scented, rich body butters, lotions, shower gels, and scrubs that literally smell good enough to eat – but they nourish your skin incredibly well in the process.

The line is called Re-Treat (ha, get it?), and is the result of her time spent with experts in the beauty business who taught her how to create products that didn’t contain additives like parabens and weren’t tested on animals. Then she dedicated the line to scents of chocolate, candy, and other confections and wrapped them in candy-colored packages that are pretty much impossible to resist.

My definite favorite is the Cake Batter line, which couldn’t smell more like the real thing. Slather on that body butter and you are in sweet treat heaven. Other irresistible scents include the Coconut Bon Bon Smoothie lotion, a yummy scented rich body lotion full of aloe vera and chamomile. And as a complete chapstick fanatic, I can’t get enough of the Chocolate Cupcake Lip Saver – a softening lip balm with Shea butter and Vitamin E that you want to lick right off.

And the best part above all else is the fact that splurging on these products won’t leave you struggling to zip up your skinny jeans. We love that Dylan Lauren.
