Scene and Be Seen
Looking for Nightlife Exclusives? Get you Cheeky Card! This ain’t your grandma’s Bingo. This ain’t your cruise ship Bingo. This ain’t even grandpa’s Bingo. No, siree, Bob. We’re not playing for a couple of quarters or for a massive jackpot of $5 – we’re playing for fancy bottles of wine, wine keys, wine paraphernalia of all sorts and gift certificates to local Bucktown shops. This is Bingo for the bad boys (and girls…obviously).
Bin wine café is already pretty badass, what with their neighborhood restaurant vibe and in-house wine shop. They can also boast that they serve one of Time Out Chicago’s ‘Top 10 Burgers’ in the city (and on Tuesday nights, it’s only five bucks!). I have to say, I didn’t eat dinner when I came here for Bingo night. I was just too consumed with accurately placing the little chips in their designated Bingo spots (i.e. B-6 or 0-74) – hey, Bingo’s a stressful game! I was even more consumed, however, because my cheeseburger-loving friend was too consumed with his burger to even remotely care about the game. This here is a testament to the deliciousness of the bin burger because Mr. Cheeseburger Lover orders them all over town (and the suburbs) and declared that this was one of the best he had ever had. So, I played Bingo a little bit harder so he could enjoy the ½ pound paradisiacal meat sandwich.
They also boast a ‘Weekend Nosh’ menu (hello!?! How cool is that?!?) and more wines by the glass than I have ever seen printed on a menu. Not to mention flights, which are always my favorite. How about pairing their ‘Show Stoppin’ Whites’ flight with some crispy tempura green beans? Or, their ‘Habla Espanol?’ flight with a crab cake sandwich (topped with apple and celery root potato salad and herb aioli)? Maybe even a little double flight action – try pairing their ‘Sexy Reds’ flight with their ‘Spanish Delight’ cheese flight.
It’s hard to imagine cheese, wine and/or burgers getting any better than they already are, but set against the backdrop of a Sunday night Bingo game and they’re enough to knock the socks off of Granny.
So, every Sunday night from 6:30-9 p.m., order $20 worth of food and wine (or beer or mimosas or bloody marys), grab a Bingo card, put on your reading glasses (gotta see the little numbers somehow) and shout it out loud…B-I-N-G-O, that is.
