kristen mitchell

cheeky's film fatale

Born and raised in a suburb just outside of Chicago, Kristen is no stranger to this city’s Cheekiness. After a four-year retreat to rural Indiana, she graduated from DePauw University with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Spanish. In college, Kristen was the Editor-in-Chief of the university’s travel publication, Eye on the World, and wrote fiction and non-fiction for A Midwestern Review. She has interned at the Sundance/Slamdance Film Festivals in Park City, Utah and in the Editorial Department at ARTNews magazine in New York City. Last summer, Kristen spent three months living in a tent at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico, where she filmed an oral history documentary, hiked every peak possible and got a lot of dust in her shoes. Obsessions include fiction by Amy Hempel, music by Trevor Hall, long naps and her chubby beagle Blue.

By day, Kristen manages the marketing and communications department for a non-profit organization. At night, she can be found in the theatres, reviewing the newest flicks for all of you Cheeky chicks. Check out her snippets and snapshots at kristen-mitchell.tumblr.com.
