Two things are true of the mamas in my life: 1. Most of these hard-working ladies hardly ever blow off their mama duties in favor of a well-deserved night out with girlfriends. 2. Moms spend lots of time taking care of the other people in their lives and very little time thinking about their own health and well-being (and that includes big, scary topics like heart health).
On February 29, 2012, WBBM Newsradio, K-HITS, B96 and Sassy Moms in the City are teaming up to celebrate the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement at Alhambra Palace Restaurant, located at 1240 W. Randolph Street in Chicago.
The second annual “Girls Night Out –Go Red for Women” event, hosted by some of Chicago’s most fabulous personalities, features a red carpet, Be Bold Go Red Spring 2012 fashion show, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, shopping, complimentary beauty services, over $2,000 in raffle prizes, a swag bag and more! Event hosts include Terri Hickey of the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago, Sarah Cobb of Neighborhood Parents Network, Meredith Sinclair of Gilt Groupe, Mafia Hairdresser from the Joseph Michael Salon and Maggie Schultz from Dress for Success.
Guests are encouraged to wear red. Sassy Moms in the City is asking attendees to bring a gently worn handbag or professional shoes to help support Dress for Success, a not-for-profit dedicated to providing career development to low-income Chicagoland women and those who donate will receive a complimentary raffle ticket. Donations will be accepted from 6-8pm at Alhambra Palace.
VIP Tickets are $30 and available online, via email or by calling 800.320.2289 ext. 1. Ticket proceeds benefit the American Heart Association Go Red for Women initiatives.
I am going to be there with a big group of my girlfriends enjoying a break from the usual Wednesday night dinner and bedtime routine while also supporting this very important charitable cause.
Will I see you there?
