A Gem of a Jewelry Line

Lovely Jewelry by a Local

by Kim Peiffer – November 26, 2009

What woman doesn’t love jewelry?

And what we’re loving about jewelry line Jules is not only her stellar pieces, but the fact that she’s a local gal to boot. Designer Julie Schwanbeck crafts intricate metal designs in her Wicker Park studio using metals, gold, sterling, you name it, and embellishing the fab pieces with gemstones and organic minerals (sea life accents, anyone?)

We love her one-of-a-kind pieces and cool, hip designs. And so does everyone else; her work has been featured on the glossy pages of WWD, People Magazine, Everyday with Rachael Ray, The Rachael Ray Show, The Chicago Tribune, Chicago Social, The Red Eye and was featured in Lucky Magazine in the January 2009 and June 2009 issues and most recently in the Chicago Tribune, OK! Magazine and Star Magazine and will be in the December issues of InStyle, Family Circle, Redbook, Brides Chicago and DailyCandy Kids. Um, ya. Just a few mentions….

But the proof is always in the pudding; how ‘bout the fabulous smokey topaz faceted gemstones hand wrapped and mixed with diamond cut rope chain, accented with chrysoprase rondelles and decorative toggle?

Another popular little gem-of-a-piece is her ID Tags; basically personalized necklaces with your initials (or the initials of someone you love) and crafted with hand-stamped letters.

Whatever style you choose from the three on her website (gems, metals or organics), you’re sure to find something that fits your fancy.
